tdogg, They are worth it.  The pros at my course will always give you a couple minutes on the practice tee and they love to be invited to play.  Our Head pro and three assistants all do it. I guess it is just a relationship thing.  They even ask me to look at their swings once in a while too.  Every year I will get a tune up lesson or two, going over fundamentals.

It does sound like you want an analyzer.  Go for it, you asked the question but obviously you don't agree with the replies. That is okay you only have to please yourself.

i think you are misunderstanding what i'm saying.  you say i don't agree with the replies, but that's not true.  people are saying pros are the way to go, and they are right.  but that wasn't what i asked.  i'm not looking to replace going to a pro for a lesson.  i'm looking to supplement that with work on my own.  i think a lesson from a PGA pro is MORE than worth it.  i've only ever had one lesson where i came away worse than i started.  and that was mainly due to a swing theory difference the pro and i had.  if i had access to a pro every session, i would take it and spend the money and not think twice.  

all i was asking, was if anyone had tried any of the devices and if they actually did what they say they do.  i have certain 'things' i try to do with my swing, and i thought maybe one of these devices would help me to 'see' if i was doing what i thought i was doing.  it's been a while, but years ago i was trained to use a real swing analyzer and interpret the data.

A few lessons with a good PGA pro is probably the best way to go but, I think swing analyzers can help. I purchased the Tiger Woods "My Swing" app for my iPhone but I havent had time to try it. I will let you know what I think about the app as soon as I can get to the range and try it out.
