pistolpete@fredcloss - This series of photos depicts Mike Austin using a swing training device of his own invention; "The Flammer". The device attached to the end of a club and encouraged "connection" (a key tenet of the Jimmy Ballard swing philosophy) between the body pivoting and the club swinging.
Hi Pete, I was just wandering, Would you happen to know if "The Flammer" is on sale anywhere to purchase?.
Please Reply, Kindest Regards.
Hogan53 - There was some talk a year or so ago that "The Flammer" or an updated version of Austin's training device, would be brought back into production. As I recall FJC member "BigToilet"aka Southern California teaching pro Jerry Crowell was involved in this opportunity. I guess the idea of re-making or re-marketing Mike Austin's training tool is either off of the drawing board or still emerging from the drawing board. There are a couple of Mike Austin devotees who may have better information or at last more current info. Try Jerry Crowell who I believe may be contacted via his club and teaching venue.
Here is the web address of the club and a listing of Jerry's email address: www.goosecreekgc.com/lessons.asp.
You might also try Steve Pratt. Steve runs a web site devoted to his understanding of the Mike Austin golf swing and is typically contacted via his web site:
Try these resources - both a great gentlemen and if you are in southern California, can help you with your swing and search for the Flammer.
Finally, I would be remiss if I did not strongly urge you to visit DJ Watts site. DJ has spent 8 years finding the perfect golf swing - He teaches a methodology that incorporates elements of the Austin swing - my personal swing methodology is based n DJ 's teachings and instruction. Downloads of his instructional series are available at: www.waxgolf.com
Let me know if you have any success in located the Flammer!
Good Luck Hogan53!!
