Got a question for Marty Hackel (aka "Mr. Style")?

  •

Chris, sorry I was late to the party on this one but if you get a chance to speak to Marty again ask him if he knows what a "Full Cleveland" is.

Answer: White patent leather shoes white patent leather belt

Many of these new outfits are giving an old guy like me DISCO FLASHBACKS !!!

That was a great read.  I have always been a Marty Hackel fan.  I never miss his Golf Digest page.

I was just wonder if I can wear my white hat with everything I wear.

I should have asked Marty what he thinks about Plus 4s. I quite like them, but it is hard to know how to match colors/patterns.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

I don't know what to wear with them... maybe a white polo... or any solid polo shirt.  I don't care much for them but if you like knickers then by all means, go for it.  I haven't seen someone in those since my brother lost a bet on the golf course a couple years back...

If it was my outfit, I would almost say no matter what, make sure the shirt is one solid color matching whatever color is dominant in the pants.

Thanks. All of the ones that I wore in the past were solid colors. Unfortunately they are a bit small for me now. I was thinking of getting a couple more pair this fall. They are great when it is cool and there is a lot of dew on the ground.

Plus, I think they are pretty stylish.

If you had solid ones, I would say a solid shirt also, maybe of a lighter/darker shade depending on the color of the pants.

This may not be to everyones liking, but I wonder what Marty hs to say about the average golfer wearing dress shorts on the course? Of course one also has to have a coordinating shirt, shoes, etc. if it is  available. If in a tournament, which is usually one of those scramble types, I do wear trousers and try to coordinate everything.

Any more, many of my friends are wearing the shorts including myself. Though some of the guys wear any old thing they want. Of this I don't approve. If you're out there I at least try to look and feel professional in my dress and attitude. Again just call me old-fashioned in my attitude. If Golf Chick is still out there, I would also like hear her opinion on the matter of shorts.

I must agree with you Eagle, I think you have to look professional on a golf course.  I for one always wear golf shorts until I can't but know the importance of not being messy or sloppy.

I don't approve of the courses that allow "just" anyone out there for a greens fee without having a dress code in place.

    Chris,

I need a full rundown of how to dress around a white belt...ha, ha.  I got one for father's day and need the dos and don'ts.  Looking forward to trying out some new white FJs with the white belt and white Titleist hat.  If I can't play like a pro, at least I can look like one.

I like the advice in one of the recent golf magazines, don't wear if over 38 inches, lol.  Whew, that was close!
