GPS vs Laser Yardage Finder

  •

I have the Callaway uPro and love it.  I am always comparing it to the sprinkler heads and my friends' laserfinders and it is always spot on.  The flyover is really nice too when playing a course for the first time.

I tend to lean towards a yardage book and a laser finder, I have seen some big problems with gps yardages, at one course I was playing the gps was showing as much as a 15 yard difference to actual yardage which can make for big misclubs

  •

I have seen that too with other GPS units, with the uPro I have never had a yardage problem. It appears to be spot on all the time.

The flyover feature on the UPro makes me airsick. I am just not good at translating the overhead view to the actual yardage.

I much prefer the laser version. Some of the courses I play are not on the GPS yet and with a laser, no  problem finding the correct yardage. Have used the laser and a GPS and much prefer the laser.

Played some bonus golf today here in Michigan and used my GPS in combination with the guy I carted with Laser -- worked really good for me...might consider investing in the Laser as well, it gave me that my GPS was accurate.

While the GPS gives front middle and back, the laser can give a finite number which is an asset if your game is that good.

The uPro, as well as others, has the ability to give you yardages to any point that you want. Just drag the cursor to the point you want and the yardage is automatically displayed.

The laser is more versatile especially if you feel the urge to blow away Bambi's Father and need the correct yardage.

Me personally I have never killed a deer. But only because I am a really bad shot.

That's your problem bholley... you use bullets.. The REAL Sally would use her bare hands.

I actually have a Bushnell - I thought this we be a good discussion post -  which it has been -  I have a friend who is wanting to buy my Bushnell from me to use for hunting Bambi's Father & Mother (I don't know why he needs it - maybe so he can brag about how far away the shot was that he missed or made) -  I carry a small digital camera with me when I play - i'd rather be take a photo of Bambi's relatives around the golf course.

sometimes it is like we are playing on their golf course

    For the Hunters to Enjoy

I could get that deer with a 4-iron from 50 yards -- lol
