New equipment in your bag this season

  •

19, I am in the same boat with wedges as you are.  I have about 15 used wedges in the garage that I would like to be able to get more life out of.  I replace often and I take measures to try and ensure they last as long as they can (groove sharpening mostly) but I still find they need to be replaced at least once a season (April-September).

When I got fitted for new clubs this spring I had in mind the new Titleist driver or the Ping. After hitting both the pro suggested I try the Adams Speedline. I have never cared for Adams equipment (just being an equipment snob I suppose) but I gave it a try.

I found it extremely easy to hit and easy to work. It tested out better both outside (getting to see the actual flight ot the ball) and from the computer readings. I must say I rather reluctantly bought the club (still being an equipment snob) and I am most pleased with the club.

Lesson learned "Don't be an equipment snob like I was".

Not sure about Adams drives, but love the hybrids.  I currently have a 3 hybrid Idea Pro and love it.  I will soon replace my 4 with a new Adams Hybrid.

My swing coach has been trying to push an Adam's hybrid on me for some time.  He gave me one and I've used it a couple time but I can't seem to consistantly put it in the bag.  I am a fan of my 2 iron and 909 H.

That said, I have heard and experienced good things with Adam's equipment, anyone see there new black oxide MB irons?  Those are something to look at!

19... you are just a stud!

I usually can go a couple years.. Might be I'm just cheap!

Mondo... most of the changes worked pretty well. The Vokey wedges are off the hook! (Duh). Adding the new 3 and 5 Metals are something I needed to do because I wasn't comfortable with my old Callaway's any more.

As for the Hybrids, well those have been a bit more challenging. The faces are a bit more closed, which has me hooking when I make a bad swing. When I nail them and make a strong pass, they are awesome. I will certainly be working with them a bunch this winter.

What I didn't change (Scotty putter and my Driver) have kept me "tried and true"!

My bag took a major makeover this year, put in new AP2 irons, Taylormade R9 Driver and 3 wood, and new Vokey Spin Milled Tour wedges

Gator, I'm sure you have but have you seen DiMarco's clubs? He has all his clubs in Florida colors. I'm a Kentucky fan but love how his clubs look with the colors.

This off season I'll be completely changing the bag (as money and the wife allows). I just changed from 2-ball putter to the Cameron Studio 2.6 Center shaft. Love it. I'm going to be trying a new format in my wedge system too. I'm going Vokey spin milled 48,52,56,60. And I'm trying to get all Titleist products in the bag. My pro is a Titleist rep and i absolutely love the new line that I used in his bag. I'm excited about the change.

Brian, the new Titleist products out there are great.  The new AP2.710's are very much like the 2009 version (released last year).  If you want to save a couple hundred, I'd skip out on the new AP2's only real change was consmetic (color).

After the New Year the bag must change to be conforming.

I will go with the new Titleist 710 CB for the 4,5,and 6 irons and the Titleist 710 MB for the 7, 8, 9, and PW. The wedges will also be replaced but I will stay with the same Vokey SM wedges that I use now, just with the new grooves.

The Driver (Titleist 909D2), 3 Metal (Titleist 909F2) and the Hybrids were all new this spring so they will not change.

New Equipment -  The new line of Bettinardi Putters shows up next Monday -

Will probably order a BB25 -  that one pair of shoes that I can't order.

    Go HOKIES

The irons I have are several years old. I don't have the old ones. But I love the look of the new AP2's.

In my opinion it all starts with the shoes -
