Hopefully there is not some idiot out there starting these on purpose, they way they are breaking out in different spots is making officials wonder.

    Be safe out there.

Luckily for Todd and myself, the fires are in the North County area about 30 miles away. The biggest problem is the fact that there are nine different fire locations and the temps are in the 100 degree range with fairly strong winds. The Santa Ana winds are suppose to be gone this evening, which will help tremendously in the battle against the fires. The firefighters are doing a great job of keeping houses and other structures from danger at this point. We're all just keeping our fingers crossed that the firefighters are going to be able to keep a lid on the problem areas until they are all extinguished.

Thanks for your well wishes and hope that this is over soon for all our friends in North County.

How are the winds? Do the Santa Ana winds pipe up every day and die down in the evening or is this pretty much a full on gale for long periods of time? As Runchr stated, every part of the country has its nasty weather, but these winds are gasoline of a brush fire and Lord knows there is a LOT of brush in this arid desert region!

Santa Ana winds are unpredictable. These have been more swirling as reported in last nights news reports. At their worst, they are non-stop....
