Does anyone know why there is a basket on the top of the pin, at the Walker Cup, instead of the traditional flag.
Hey Grumpy, thats because at Merion they actually don't use flags and use the basket as pictured.

I saw that last year (I think it was the US Jr Am or another event on TV) and they talked about their flag sticks -- that was the only reason I knew.
