Well ... have read a fair bit and still getting my head around it all so for those that are interested I think this is how it goes. ....
Top 125 retain cards
- 2013 only is based on Money - but going forward into 2013/2014 wrap around season will be based on Fed Ex Cup placings -
126-200 will now have to play Web.Com Tour final series for 25 cards up for grabs.
- Those who do not qualify for the 25 places are demoted to Web.Com Tour.
201+ I assume will go to Q-School which is still in place but now feeds web.com tour.
Top 25 on Web.Com Tour regular season (this looks like it is based on Money) earn card to PGA Tour.
Top 75 qualifiy for Web.Com Tour final series with 26-75 competing against PGA Tour 126-200 for 25 cards up for grabs.
So 50 cards available (Top 25 in regular season and next best 25 at completion of final series).
The No.1 at end of regular season and No.1 money earner in the Final Series are fully exempt onto PGA Tour (excluding invitational events)
The remaining Top 50 are ranked on their final results in the Final Series to determine their priority entry status in PGA Tour events.
Not sure what happens to 76 and below - assume 76-125 (on something like that) are ok to play next season with the rest having to go back go back to Q-School to re-qualify for web.com tour
Now that is how I believe it works this year - but guessing it will be tweaked over the next few seasons.
