While there have been a number of good threads over the years on this site regarding fitness, I just wanted to share my recent experience in following with the TPI (Titleist Performance Institute). A few months ago I had a terrible muscle pull in my upper back, rib cage area and decided that once I recovered that I really needed to get into a proper fitness routine. I've had a few injuries these last few years that have side tracked my health and realised that I had better get to it while there's still hope for me.
I came across a post by Dr. Rose on GolfChannel and then did some reading on their site. If you get a chance, check out some of their drills/blogs: http://www.mytpi.com . I was happy to find that the guys at the gym that's located at my practice facility are TPI trained and I signed up with them. These guys are really good! The program, while golf focused, is designed for both flexibility and strength that is applicable to general life fitness as well. I love it and can't say enough about how much better I feel both on the course and off. My trainers says that I'm so tight (3 out of 10 on flexibility) -- I would have never guessed and I'm working on it religiously.
Anyway, just though I would share my experience with all of you.
