Pistol, a horrific day beyond any words, truly beyond any comprehension.

This whole deal is very surreal for our family. In September of 2001 our family considered moving to Newtown, and wandered around in that quaint little town. My daughter called and reminded me of this last night, as I had hardly recalled it. Alas, the following week another unspeakable horror took place on 9-11, and it sealed the deal for us that the east was not where we should be.

Now like you Pete, I have friends from Pepsi that are part of the extended community. I have been reaching out trying to get news and word of assurances that those I know are safe.

But in a larger way, is anyone OK? Really. This sadness has torn at every fiber of my being. I am so angry and frustrated over this totally preventable insanity.

Our prayers go to everyone.

Randy, I don't believe that anyone will ever understand the senselessness of this type of thing. The only avenue we have to resort  to is our faith in a higher being and try to stand behind and support those who have suffered so. Personally, if it weren't for my faith,  I don't know if I would be able to absorb this and reconcile myself to the fact that there aree those who just defy ll the rules. May God bless and comfort all those,in this, their greatest time of need.

I guess this is our version of a suicide bomber.  Some things in this world will never be understood. Another sad day in our country.

Although no direct connection to Friday’s Tragedy I feel like I have been in a hazy dream since hearing the news that morning and watching/reading about it….     It is so very heart wrenching. Newtown is a charming town about 15-20 minutes from where I live. Friends have lived there in prior years while some business colleagues still do. For something so horrific as this massacre to have occurred is surreal.

As more information unfolds it provides further insight but will not bring back those we lost  or ease the painful thoughts about the lives that would have been for the 20 children taken from this earth too soon and the many more wonderful things the heroic educators also lost would  have cultivated and inspired.....

My 24 year old niece is a passionate new Teacher in PA. After this occurrence I am praying for hers and all others safety as well as the strength for them to continue sharing their special gifts with their students…..

Things in this world desparately need to change !!!

I can't imagine what they are going through and I hope they find strength to move forward while remembering the victims.

As a husband of a 1st Grade teacher and father of a 2.5 year old this has really hit close to home and has been difficult to wrap my head around.  Not to mention my wonderful mother in law is a 3rd grade teacher.  Schools should be a safe place and not one where we worry about going to.  If we need armed guards so be it.  This is senseless.

Thoughts and prayers for the Newtown community

Justin, I am with you.  My wife is a 5th grade teacher and this hit her very hard.  I could not imagine this happening in my town, let alone to one of my children or my wife.

A horrific tragedy, and my heart goes out to the whole community and the families effected.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the victims of this senseless tragedy .  I can't imagine what the community, facaulty, and parents are going through.

Words cannot express how saddened I am... I have been working at an elementary school for past 4 months for an internship and looking at the kids during that day broke my heart. Any thoughts...prayers...or help that can come to the families please make it to them.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families...I too am a husband of a teacher and a future dad (my wife is 8 months pregnant with our first child) and I can't imagine what the families are going through. It's a sad time.
