If you love color...

  •

I personally see myself having a hard time spending $35 on a glove without the legacy and proven track record like FJ does. I have no problem dropping that sort of change on the PTL but that also falls into line with my personal reasoning.  Fancy colors, but I feel like if you wanna rep gloves like that, you gotta bring the thunder and the game on the course! And that's something I rarely do.

    I'll stick with FJ!

I don't know how wearing a colored glove requires one to outplay everyone.  I just like a little color from time to time but that's just me.

A few of us can remember Doug Sanders with his colors.  FJ had colored gloves into the late 80's.  You could buy a box of a dozen and get all kinds of shades. So your wardrobe would match.

It would be really great if FJ would run a deal if you bought a pair of  My Joys you got a Sta Sof that was colored coordinated.  Go Hokie would go nuts.

Love the idea of something other than white! Remember Ken Green?  He did for the color green what Doug Sanders did for all colors. Green shoes, green glove, and great golf swing...Great character...

    GT Fore update.....

Since Smith, Hokie and I have tried these gloves I think we can say that the overall quality of the glove is fantastic. The leather is just awesome. I will also say that while $35 is steep, it's only around $12 more than the top of the line FJ models. And since I'm a lefty, I can't get the Pur Soft model anyway.

I love FJ gloves a great deal. But I also want color in my equipment, and so this option works out quite nicely.

Just a hint -  guys and gals -  you might want to check ebay -  recently picked-up a gray in my size for around $15.00 including shipping.

I can tell you they do exist in a prototype fashion.  Not certain if we will be releasing them to the public or not...

We know you are a Pure Touch snob!

Colored gloves are not allowed at Bushwood sir.  And I never slice.

The colors were interesting, but from a retailer's point of view they would be difficult to sell. If I remember there were about a dozen different colors. Take this time the number of sizes you need to stock and you are looking at putting almost an additional 100 gloves on the shelf. Then when you have a bunch of them left over at the end of the season you need to either sell them deeply discounted or hold them until next year.

If the sample rack that we saw were sent to all of the accounts as a display and the gloves they were available as a "special order" in say three packs they might do a bit better.

Just the opinion of one retailer......

From the retail side of things I totally agree that stocking the G-Fores would be almost crazy, especially all colors.  For me locally the Tangerine and Berry will sell all day long but probably not many of the other colors.

I will say that I've never had a Pure Touch to try -  I don't think I've seen one recently where I could purchase.   I will try one when I get a chance - if I get 20 rounds out of a Pure Touch (that a little more than $1.00 per round - which is OK with me).

On the other hand -  nothing sharper than those White/Orange shoes and the Orange glove.

I already have a few Black FJ gloves -  sure wish FJ had either Orange or Maroon.

Adding multiple SKU's to any retailer is a problem for sure, so I echo Rick's sentiments 100%. BUt this is where the on-line retailing world excels and can be an impact for positive revenue. And FJ has this little thing called "MyJoys", which is all about custom goods and ordering.

The platform is in place and so the means is available.

Tim can't wear color either.... It would stand out too much against all his various khaki shorts. Leave the color to the big boys TT....
