FJ Pants

FJ Pants

OK, this topic is beginning to form for me in a lot of different thread, so I wanted to make a specific one just for this purpose.

In my opinion, with all the FJ shoes and different styles and looks, why do they not make a line for matching trousers?  They could make a light weight pant they could use on the tour but have it available for retail to match some of the more exotic shoe choices?

Maybe even a MyJoys line for pants with color specifics similar to the MyJoy shoe color schemes?  Maybe this is asking too much...

MyJoy pants!  That could get pretty wild.  I could only imagine what some of the offers would look like.  I will take a pair of pink gator pants when they are released please!

On a more serious note, I think FJ pants would be a hit.  We have socks, shoes, shirts, a thread about underpants, why not some slacks.

This is a great idea. I currently use the Addidas Clima Cool pants because the synthetic fabric is totally awesome. I wear the long pants on warm days and am 100% comfortable. And look at what RL by Ralph Lauren has done, and Brooks Brothers, with performance fabrics. It's completely fantastic.

So it stands to reason that FJ could add a line of pants that feature ProDry technology. Heck, the colors don't have to be too wild, but a few nice additions to traditional black, khaki, navy, white, would be awesome. I'll buy some!

Exactly, I use a brand that I do not really ever use for anything but their pants because FJ doesn't offer that service.

Can a staffer chime in and let us know the reasons behind the "no pants" from FJ?

Or if it is in the works... etc?

I just started another thread about this same topic.  Should have read forward I guess.  I would be VERY interested in FJ pants.  Especially something along the lines of MY JOY pants!!!  Great new patterned fabrics to compliment the many ICON styles would be awesome.

I would also like to see FJ pants, but with the clothing industry so competitive and the costs of starting up a new line are almost overwhelming. I, at one time was briefly in the clothing industry and it is not an easy field. Especially now that much of the clothing is being made outside the US. Consider that FJ would be dealing with a small, however dedicated, group of people. That in itself is a matter that needs a great deal of research by FJ. That said, I would probably buy several pairs if they could distributel them out to stores that would be willing to carry their lines. Buying on line in many cases causes problems that you would not believe and I believe FJ would not want to that route

I love this idea.  They could market whole outfits along with the MyJoys at a discounted rate.

Or they could offer suggestions based on the shoes you order.

The problem with pants is so many different sizes are need. Not just waist size but also length.

IMO, it would be easier than shoes as far as size goes.

Iwoulld have to agree with Holley on this one. Sizing would be a major problem. One size waist size would have to have 6 different lenghts and multiply that by waist sizes ranging from say a 30 up to 46 that involves a lot of pants that  have to be made. Whereas, with shoes, one size only needs two and possibly three widths. Shirts only require S,M, L, XL & XXL. Quite a difference in handling and marketing.

I like the idea of a pro dry material pant...I find it difficult to wear long pants because I can't find a material that I can be commfortable in for an entire round.  I tend to wear shorts as long as I can even in the colder weather due to lack of comfort.

However, I can see the caveat as there would have to be many different sizes with many lengths -- although a way out of that is to have unfinished pants at one length that will allow for the user to have them custom tailored.

While it might cost a bit more for the tailoring, maybe there can be a savings on the mfr end by FJ as they would not have to have so many different lengths making production easier.

I know that no matter what pants I purchase, I usually always have to have the altered

I can understand the arguement about all the sizes, lengths, etc. but there is not nearly as much R&D and development required for a pair of pants as compared to shoes.  Starting up a line of pants really would be pretty straightforward I would think - the question is, what other projects is FJ working on that would take priority/time/money/etc over a new line of pants?  In the current marketplace, tough to enter a new arena, if you are already commiting lots of resources to other, more important projects.  Just a thought.

Having them tailored to length may be an answer to the problem, but how many would be willing to go to  the expense for that? ?

I remembered hearing some people interested in MyJoys pants and I came across this site that lets you do that.  I have never ordered from them before, but they don't look too shabby.  If you open the site, look on the left side to get to "Create your own" pants.
