Foot Joy has been a leader in leading edge style and ability to customize.  I would like to see FJ produce patterned pants to compliment the great new ICON styles.  Would anyone else be interested or am I the lone pants fanatic?

It would be interesting but I wouldnt hold your breath for it.  They have their hands full with everything else and I doubt they would enter that market

Not sure that they would want to venture into pants either because it's not like a shoe or shirt where most people can find a style that they like and that fits.

Lots of SKU's to contend with when dealing with pants vs. shirts and outerwear, could be more $ invested in stock than they would want to tackel right now. If they did I am sur ethey would be great though.

I agree that pants are a tough market to enter. But now that the stakes on performance garnets, with performance fabrics is going crazy, how can you not enter. Heck, even Brooks Brothers is in the "Country Club" line, and I can tell you, their stuff is really nice fabrics and quite stylish. In addition, I have been sporting the Addidas Clima-Cool long pants this year and they are the most comfortable golf pants I have ever worn, even on hot days. And bot do they play up the performance attributes on those babies!

I volunteer to be a test markketer for any line of FJ trousers that you guys want to bring out.

If FJ were to enter this side of the market, which I doubt, I don't think it would be a wise move. Many years ago I was in the clothing industry for a very brief period and this area is an extremely tough one. There are too many variables in it and by sticking with what they currently have, shirts , Jackets and socks, they are keeping their choices of sizing to the minimum. With the variety of styles they carry inshirts, etc. you can buy whatever style of trousers and easily find  coordinating shirt or shoes.

Wow, this thread goes back to when FJ didn't have pants on . . . err. . . pants in the apparels line.

    Who woulda thunk!

Guys, (jas904)  Was he the first?

Gotta thank him and FJ for it. . . Great idea!

Why not, I'd put their shorts and current pants just behind Tommy Bahamas because of the silk factor.... Just barely!

Boy it's been awhile since I visited these forums but I got an email telling me about noeldaof's post.  It seems that I was ahead of my time in 2009 but maybe I was on to something.  I expect an apology from each of you critics above!!  Just joking.  I do have a couple pairs of FJ pants and they are great.  However you might ask what's better than FJ pants well...FJ United Kingdom trousers are.  During my last trip to Scotland, May 2012, there was FJ apparel in just about every golf shop, on course and off, that we walked into.  I was in Nevada Bobs in St Andrews and walked out with four pairs, pinstripes, checks, but my personal favorite the athletic fit.  What's so awesome about them you might ask? Well, even though they are solid black, they have contrast white stitching, one of the belt loops in the back is extra wide with the FJ logo embroidered, they cuffs are V hemmed with the V hem in the front (where the crease is), and the front pockets are cut with a slant.  Whenever I am wearing them I always get stopped and asked about them.  So to FJ USA, pay attention to what FJ UK is doing.  Anyhow, I'm really glad that FJ got into the apparel business.  I think you are doing a great job and hope it continues to be a success for FJ.  Just maybe I had a little something to do with it.

jas904. . . . !  There you are.  Yeah, hey, thanks for stopping by and dropping us a line.  Just wanted to congratulate you for your awesome suggestion, it has obviously met reality, and now we have FJ pants.  Recently, there were some talk about pants and I think we’re (or FJ is) adding gray/grey color as an addition to what's already available.

I’m still new here in the FJ community and there’s probably no way I’ll catch up with everything you guys discussed in the passed but this thread you started caught my eye.  I’m wishing and hoping FootJoy with even better success in the apparel lines as I learn more about it. . . and what great community this is.

The pants you are talking about from UK is an awesome style and I like that it has a V cuff so the pants will hang or drape for better look and a very nice one.  Would you be kind to describe what material it is made of? (Thanks in advance)  http://www.footjoy.co.uk/catalog/productview.asp?c=422

What I’ve seen others do are off to the sides.  They’ve made a split seam on the inside and outside of the pant leg similar to the V cuff, but on both sides of the seam.  I thought those were a clever idea to have as for one, it’ll drape the pants for good looks (Thanks to Don/golferdrmjr: ‘learned something), and 2, it shows the shoes off better on the sides.  With the new Icon Pyramids and Waves, I think an FJ pants with split seam with any FJ shoes together would be an awesome combination.  I can picture it in DryJoys & Icons. . . so classy and sporty at the same time.

    Thanks, again!
