Rory Mcilroy (Pure Touch Limited and FJ SPORT #53102) has reached the pinnacle of professional golf becoming a major champion at the 2011 U.S. Open. The 22-year-old Ulsterman put on a display of pure golfing excellence at Congressional Country Club becoming only the 5th player to lead wire-to-wire on his way to victory in a U.S. Open Championship.

Rory's onslaught of Congressional began with a birdie and his stellar play continued all week, shooting four rounds in the 60's.  He reached 10 under par in only 26 holes, making Rory the quickest player to reach such a lofty score in a U.S. Open.  Mcilroy also set the U.S. Open record for total score (268), most stokes under par(-16), along with 10 other U.S. Open records.

Mcilroy received praise from many of his peers all week including the number one ranked golf Luke Donald stating, "As I've said before, I think he has probably the most talent I've ever seen from a golfer."  Not many will argue this now as the young Mcilroy moves to number 4 in the Official World Golf Rankings and is reaching the potential many of his peers have seen for years.

What a clinic Rory put on. He just made every shot spot on and even when he made his couple of mistakes, he rebounded quickly.

Congratulations Rory- The first of many Majors.

Congratulations to Rory on his "Major" achievement. His record setting performance was one for the books. I'm glad he put his Masters performance behind him. It was also nice to see him accomplish this on Fathers Day,with his dad there to congatulate him as he walked off 18.

For a young man at 22 years of age, his performance left a mark on the history of golf that will last a long time. And to do it on Father's Day made it even more outstanding for his dad and family. Rory is a player to be watched and now that he has a mentor by the name of Jack, who knows what he may accomplish.

Conratulations to a young man and may continued success be on the horizon for this very talented golfer.

Way to go Rory.

i think rory is a loser!!! it was all luck... if u saw wat he did at the masters then u will know what i am talking about. he blew up at the final round of the masters and if there were anybody within 3 stokes of the lead then he wouldve blown up just like he did at the master, but everybody else played bad so there was no pressure on him.
