Our European Tour staff is in Shanghai, China this week for the BMW Asian Open. However, a lot of the talk early in the week was about the wild rain players endured during the final round last week in Beijing. A lot of players were singing the praises of their FootJoys...
Markus Brier commented that his pair of ReelFit (right, top) kept him completely dry and their lightness helped him through a very long Sunday. Louis Oosthuizen heard enough comments about the new DryJoys last weekend that he has ordered two pairs to try in the coming weeks. Graeme McDowell said that his ProDry Golf Socks came through a tough test in Beijing with flying colours. He said the benefits from the cushioning of a brand new pair were terrific in the poor weather conditions of last weekend. Looking forward to this week, here are a few other items that were discussed... Martin Kaymer returned to action on the PGA European Tour wearing a sporty pair of all-white Classics Dry Premiere (right, bottom). After a discussion with him, we have decided he should try a narrower fit so he can benefit from greater support and stability... we will get something to him to try as quickly as possible. Michael Lorenzo-Vera asked about buying a pair of Exotics. His countrymen who have bought recently are so happy with theirs that he feels he can't miss out!!
Our Tour reps are onsite at the EDS Byron Nelson Championship this week and sent some photos from inside the locker room on Tuesday. The locker rooms can be busy, especially early in the week, as players arrive and get settled for what they hope is a long (successful) week. We also have some nice photos from our Tour staff on the Nationwide Tour. The crew is in Richmond, Virginia this week for the Henrico County Open. Check out the slideshow to see what was going on at both events...

We'll be blogging next week from the Wachovia Championship and want you to help us interview the Tour players. So click on "Add a Comment" and submit a question you would like to ask a Tour player - either related to their shoes, gloves or outerwear or just something in general, such as how they decide what to wear each week or which golf course or baseball team is their favorite. We'll pose your questions to our FootJoy players in Charlotte and post their responses upon our return.

We spoke with Skip Haugen this week, one of the FootJoy representatives on the PGA Tour, and he had some interesting feedback regarding the MyJoys with the new camo leather pattern. Shipped to a handful of players the week before the Masters, Skip said the reaction has been great from players and fans. Boo told Skip his MyJoys "caused quite a stir in Augusta, both inside and outside the ropes." Davis Love also raised some eyebrows when he wore them during the Pro-Am this week. He told Skip "I could have sold about a dozen pair of these MyJoys during the Pro-Am...everyone loved them!" In addition to Boo and Davis, you can also keep an eye on these players who also requested the new camo leather pattern -David Toms, John Riegger and Brett Wetterich, who also wore them last week in Augusta.
