Just a few short weeks ago, Jimmy Walker opened the 2014 Fedex Cup season with a victory at the Frys.com Open. This week at Waialae Country Club, he added a second victory in the new wraparound PGA Tour season with a win at the Sony Open.
Needing a big round to have any shot at the title, Walker fired a flawless, bogey free round of 63 to stay one shot clear of his playing competitors. His round included five back nine birdies that proved insurmountable to his chasers.
Walker relied on FJ Icon and StaSof en route to the win.
The win moves Walker to the top of the Fedex Cup leaderboard.

Steady veteran Zach Johnson opened his 2014 campaign with a victory at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions at Kapalua.
Starting the week with rounds of 66 and 67 placed Johnson atop the leaderboard at the halfway point of the tournament. He struggled to a 74 during the third round, falling out of the lead with only the final round to play.
With strokes to make up, Johnson birdied three holes on his outward nine. Adding four more birdies on the inward nine gave Johnson a one stroke lead. No one could match his 19 under par total, giving Johnson the win!
Johnson relied on DryJoys Tour and StaSof during his winning performance.

A key strand in FootJoy's DNA is comfort. It's important to us because it's important to every player and it's something we never compromise. However, that doesn't mean there isn't room to be innovative! So with this product, we took the midsole, which is the layer between the upper and the outsole that generally contains most of the cushion in a shoe, and relocated it to the FitBed®….hence the Xtra-thick FTF FitBed. We did not remove any cushion, or comfort, but actually enhanced it by moving it inside the shoe where you will feel it, and appreciate it, the most!
In addition, FTF™, or Fine Tuned Foam is a new material that has been used in the FitBed. Two densities of FTF were included - a firmer density to provide stability within the shoe and a softer density for comfort - with the end result being industry-leading in-shoe comfort.

The new NitroThin™ TPU (thermoplastic urethane) outsole for this new shoe has been in development for several years to ensure ample time for experimenting with new materials, new methods of constructing the outsole and configuring traction elements and also rigorous testing of each component and the finished product. The result is a thinner outsole that delivers lightweight stability and performance as well as flexibility and feel.
