Already a two time runner up this year, North Carolina native Webb Simpson (FJ ICON #52013) shot a bogey-free 67 to win the Wyndham Championship.
Simpson's 64 on Saturday, which included a back nine 29, catapulted him ahead of the crowded leaderboard by two strokes heading into Sunday. His final round began with par on each of the first eight holes before making a birdie on the par-4 ninth. Simpson continued his steady play on to the back nine with consecutive birdies on 14 and 15 to extend the lead to three. With an easy two putt par on the 72nd hole, Simpson earned his first PGA Tour victory and moved to 3rd place in the Fed Ex Cup playoffs.
Congrats to Webb! Nice win in his home state. Always great to get #1 out of the way!
Congratulations to him and FJ on the win!
Great win for WS. I think many more will come with his talent and now he knows he can win on tour.
One of many I'm sure to come for Webb. Congrats on the first one I'm sure it's a special one since it was in NC.
Great Win for Webb Simpson. Bonus is that he gets the invite for play the 2012 Masters for the 1st time.
Great point WhoDey! So many 1st time winners on tour this year especially the younger guys. The 2012 Masters should be nice to see with new faces.
