The Fashion Insider on pgatour.com recently caught up with FJ player, and Tour fashion icon, Brian Gay to find out what inspires his bold choices and how you can achieve the same looks at your course. Brian specifically talked about the role his footwear plays in his outfits and the endless possibilities available through the custom MyJoys program...
"I also get excited about shoes and I recently had FootJoy do some custom shoes for me to match the outfits. The thing that is so great about Sligo is that they really pay attention to my needs and ideas and when I mentioned that I would like to get some custom shoes made from FootJoy, the partners from Sligo sent me swatches to pass on to FootJoy to create some shoes that would exactly match their colors. FootJoy is a sponsor of mine as well and I really appreciated them going the extra mile to help me completely coordinate my outfits."
Wish I had an outfit coordinator...
Brian Gay has been a stylish dresser for a long time, and now with his solid '10 on course performance, people are noticing him for many reasons.
He also mentions a common theme; "Look good, feel good, play good." All goes hand in hand. Which is why the MyJoys program truly helps all golfers not only look their best, but perform at the highest levels as well.
I was a pretty shabby dresser in grammar school but always a great dresser on the golf course as a kid. Grades were just OK until I was unknowingly partnered with my 7th grade teacher and her husband. Needless to say she was shocked. I was wearing my only blue suit pants, nice collared shirt, sweater vest, and a pair of my Dad's black and white wingtips ( 2 sizes too big). She saw me in a different light and told me to apply my golf skills to education skills. Best advice ever. Dress good, feel good for sure.
