Adam Scott (FootJoy golf shoes, StaSof glove) returned to the winner's circle in a big way over the weekend, winning the Australian Open by five shots for his first professional victory on his home soil.Scott, who shot an even-par 72 on Sunday, won 14 times worldwide since turning pro in 2000 before breaking through in his native land. He finished the week with a 15-under 273 total at New South Wales Golf Club. The win follows a string of solid finishes for the Aussie who moves back inside the top 50 and most likely locked up an invite to the Masters. He tied for third in the Singapore Open, tied for sixth in the Australian Masters, tied for seventh in the Dubai World Championship and now a victory in the championship all Australians covet outside the four majors."I always thought I'd get my chance," Scott said. "It's so bizarre, this game, that off the back of such a bad year I finally played good enough to win down here."This is very, very special to me to win here," Scott said. "This is going to be very sweet and something I will treasure for the rest of my career."
Congratulations to AS! All his hard work has certainly paid off. He has been in the hunt the last couple weeks and he finally sealed the deal. Enjoy... looking forward to next year!
Good deal this weekend... Adam Scott and Jim Furyk end long winless periods with victories. And Mr. Scott wins for the first time on home soil, which is quite pleasing to him I'm sure.
Well done!
Glad to see Adam's game is coming back around. He has such a great swing.
Hope this is the start of a good 2010 for both him and Furyk.
Awesome win. Hope he's on the road back toward the top 10 on the money list
What FJs was Adam wearing this past week??
Definitely a great win and it's good to see Adam back at the top of the leaderboard. Hopefully this will carry over into the 2010 season.
Good win for Adam! Maybe this will give him a little more confidence and drive...
gookinja,
I could be wrong but it looked like the winning shoe was Classics #50787, the all black shield tip design.
Really great to see Adam Scott back on form. I've always enjoyed watching him play, and hope this is a nice springboard to 2010.
My congratulations to Adam on his win. I would hope that this is a good sign that he will be returning to place in the top ten more often and possibly return to the winners circle a feww more times next year
I was so excited to see Mr. Scott finish the year on such a positive note. More wins from Mr. Scott would be great for golf. Even my gal pals who don't golf know of Mr. Scott! ;o)
