Following a disappointing finish at The Barclays where he missed a putt on the 18th hole to force a playoff, Steve Stricker (SYNR-G, PureTouch Limited) rebounded in a huge way Monday at the Deutsche Bank Championship. With fellow FootJoy players Jason Dufner (FJ ICON) and Scott Verplank (ReelFit) waiting on the tee for a possible playoff, Stricker drained a 15-footer for birdie on the 17th hole then slammed the door with a clutch up-and-down for birdie from just off the 18th green to win by one. The victory was Stricker's third of the season, moved him up to a career-high No. 2 in the Official World Golf Ranking and gave him sole possession of the lead in the FedExCup standings heading to Chicago for the third of four playoff events.
nice to see some exciting golf again
great win by stricker. he really closed the deal on the final holes.
Solid performance. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. Congatulations.
Stricker is the man. What a great finish.
He is becomming my pick for the Fedex cup this year. I chose him earlier as the winner if TW was not playing well or pulled out at one point. I don't think TW is playing well because at the last 2 tournaments he didn't win and because of a previous record he has had this season when he failed to win after golfing more than 2 tourneys in aa row. I don't feel TW has the stamina or conditioning he had before his surgery. It certainly has opened up the field andStricker may just be the man to take it all.
I'm so glad to see Steve come through with such a big victory seeing as how he has had some heartbreaks earlier this year.
I think he may be the front runner to win the whole thing now as I'm sure he is playing with much more confidence and knows he can play head to head with TW.
Good Luck this week Steve, play well.
I enjoyed watching his swing. It seems so simple with minimal movement. Stricker was solid as a rock. Thanks for the video.
Great win by a great player.
