Lorena Ochoa fired a bogey-free final round 5-under 67 to earn her second career major title with a five-shot victory at the Kraft Nabisco Championship. Ochoa, who also won last year's RICOH Women's British Open, finished the week with an 11-under 277 total, and has now won two consecutive majors and three of her first four tournaments this year. Beginning the day with a slim one shot lead, Ochoa, sporting a pair of white, custom women's Classics, charged out of the gate with birdies on her first two holes at a difficult Mission Hills course. After a string of pars, she rattled off three more birdies on holes 8-10 to build what would prove to be an insurmountable five-shot lead. In addition to earning a traditional jump in the pond off the 18th green, Ochoa also earned $300,000 for her 20th victory, and the 26-year old is already just one point away from the performance criteria of the World Golf Hall of Fame. She could get that next week when the LPGA visits her home country of Mexico for the Corona Championship.

Will this void the 2 year waterproof guarantee?
Good to know Lorena's a FootJoy gal. I couldn't figure out what she was wearing until earlier this year, when a closeup of her putting stance revealed FOOTJOY on the outsole.
Chris, according to the Darrell Survey, which tracks the shoes and equipment used on Tours around the world, Lorena has actually been wearing FJ shoes throughout her professional career. This year (2008) is the first year she is officially signed on to wear FootJoy shoes. As far as styling goes, Lorena keeps it very traditional with a pair of all white custom Classics shoes (occasionally you will see her in a pair of black and white saddles). Regards.
Steve, it sure would be hard to explain that water hazard leap to our Warranty Department :) Just a detail we thought you'd enjoy, Lorena is wearing a pair of custom Women's Classics golf shoes (no waterproof warranty). Take care.
I've seen a lot of players jump into a water hazard after winning, but I never understood why. So, why?
